All the stars and most assuredly the moon will be in alignment this weekend to Destination Lowcountry for all of our music loving friends not to mention our island adventure seekers. You have two choices to listen to some original music by musical maestro Matthews
(Wendell that is, not Dave) on the Savannah side of the River on Tybee Island this Saturday during the Tybee Island PiratesFest.
Seems Wendell Matthews is a plenty funny guy himself who writes and performs some really good original music.
And if you miss Wendell’s original Lowcountry Daufuskie tune “Beneath the Reefer Moon”, on Tybee Island an ode to Daufuskie Native Wordsmith Roger Pinckney’s enthralling work of fiction, “Reefer Moon” then jump over to the “Right side of the River” according to Roger at Daufuskie Island
on the South Carolina side from Destination Savannah. On Sunday next, Wendell will be performing at The Old Daufuskie Crab Company well within easy earshot listening distance of Freeport Marina.
Gather round music lovers and adventure seekers. Coastal Festivals on Destination Low Country Sea Islands, good seafood eating, live music, the next weekend coming up this fall high season, and most important of all a song about Moon River.
Well okay not exactly that song about the moon, maybe it isn’t really about Bull River you have to cross to get out to Tybee Island but close enough, and maybe not that other singer/song writer Matthews dude either but you get the picture. What is it about Savannah, accomplished Song Writers, and the Moon anyhoo?
